Venice Carnival 2021

Its origins:

 are very ancient, the first testimony dates back to a document of doge Vitale Falier of 1094, where we talk about public entertainment and in which the word Carnival is mentioned for the first time.  It is in the eighteenth century that the Venice Carnival reaches its maximum splendor, gaining international resonance throughout Europe.

Disguise is the very essence of the festival, where masks and costumes become indispensable tools to realize the climate of this time of year, dedicated to transgression, light-heartedness, lightness and fun.

Today:  

Among the streets of the wonderful city, for about ten days, there is a continuous representation of theatrical joy and playfulness, all in masks to celebrate the charm of a world made of dances, jokes, exclusive galas and romantic encounters

Venice Art Biennale is postponed by one year, 23/04/2022 – 27/11/2022 do to Coronavirus emergency

Venice Architecture Biennale 22/05/2021 - 21/11/2021

Its origins: 

the initiative was born in 1895, by a group of Venetians supported by the mayor of Venice who immediately had success.

Today:  

Over time the Biennale has become one of the largest international events, in which prominent figures who love contemporary art and culture often participate.

Venice 78th International Film Festival 01/09/2021 - 11/09/2021

Its origins: 

The Venice Internazional Film Festival was first held in 1932 at Lido and the first edition took place on the terrace of the Hotel Excelsior at the Lido di Venezia. The main prize that is awarded (along with several others) is the Golden Lion, which owes its name to the symbol of the city (the Lion of St. Mark). This award is considered one of the most important from the point of view of film criticism.

Today:

Over the years, the Exhibition is officially recognized by the FIAPF (International Federation of Associations of Film Producers) aims to promote the knowledge and dissemination of international cinema in all its forms of art, entertainment and industry, in a spirit of freedom and dialogue. The Exhibition organizes retrospectives and tributes to prominent personalities, as a contribution to a better knowledge of the history of cinema.
